How It Works
Simple steps to start buying or selling construction materials
Step 1 — Register your profile
Create your personal or business profile on CircularBuild.
Step 2 — Submit a listing
Log in, click “Sell,” add your material details, upload clear photos, set your price, and submit your listing.
Step 3 — We verify and publish
We review your listing and publish it within one working day.
Step 4 — Your item sells and you get paid
When a buyer purchases your materials, payment is processed securely and settled directly to you at
the time of purchase. Buyers have a 7-day protection period to raise an eligible issue with their order.
If an issue is raised and a refund is approved after you’ve already been paid, CircularBuild will recover
the refunded amount from you — typically by deducting it from your next payout.
You Set Your Own Price

Frequently Asked Questions
We know selling or buying building materials online can feel new, so we’ve made it simple.
Here are a few common questions to help you understand how CircularBuild works. Whether you’re listing materials, buying them, or just exploring what’s possible.
What is CircularBuild?
CircularBuild is South Africa’s first digital marketplace for leftover building materials. We connect people who have extra materials with those who need them, helping save costs, reduce waste, and keep materials in use.
Is CircularBuild available across South Africa?
Yes. You can register and list materials from anywhere in the country.
Do I need an account to use CircularBuild?
Yes. Both buyers and sellers need an account to keep the platform safe and verified. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes.
How does CircularBuild keep transactions safe?
We verify every seller and listing before it goes live. We also encourage payments through secure channels to help ensure a smooth and trusted experience for both buyers and sellers.
What kinds of materials can I find or sell?
Everything from bricks, timber, tiles, and cement to fittings and steel. We only allow safe, usable construction materials. No damaged or hazardous stock.
How do I find materials near me?
Use the search bar to browse by location, category, or material type. You’ll see listings closest to you first.
Can I buy directly from sellers?
Yes. You browse and purchase materials from independent sellers through the CircularBuild platform. CircularBuild facilitates the transaction through its marketplace, payment, buyer- protection, dispute-resolution and, where applicable, logistics arrangements.
How do I pay?
You pay securely through CircularBuild at checkout using the payment methods supported on the platform. Transactions are subject to CircularBuild’s applicable payment, buyer-protection, refund and dispute-resolution terms.
Can you help with delivery?
Not yet. We’re working hard to secure and verify drivers so that deliveries can be made seamlessly. For now, buyers are responsible for arranging their own transport.
What if I don’t get what I paid for?
if something is wrong with your order, you can submit a Buyer Protection claim through your dashboard under My Orders within the applicable Buyer Protection Period following delivery or collection. CircularBuild may review the claim together with the Seller and any relevant transaction, payment or logistics information. Depending on the circumstances and the applicable policy, the claim may result in a full or partial refund, another appropriate remedy, or rejection of the claim. CircularBuild may make a determination based on the available evidence even if the Seller does not respond.
Is it free to list my materials?
Yes. Listing your materials on CircularBuild is free. Sellers set their own prices, and any applicable CircularBuild fees or transaction charges will be clearly disclosed before a transaction is completed.
How do I list my materials?
After registering, log in and go to “Sell.” Upload clear photos, describe your materials, and set your price. Submit your listing, and we’ll verify and publish it within a working day.
How do I get paid?
When your item sells, payment is processed and settled directly to you at the time of purchase. Buyers have a 7-day protection period after delivery to raise an eligible issue. If a refund is approved after you’ve already been paid, the refunded amount will be recovered from you, typically deducted from a future payout. Any applicable fees will be disclosed before the transaction is completed.
Can I sell as a business?
Yes. Businesses can register for free and list multiple materials in bulk.
What happens if my materials don’t sell?
No problem. You can relist anytime, adjust your price, or update your photos. You’re never charged for unsold listings.
Coming Soon
We’re adding new tools soon, including in-app messaging, delivery options, and carbon tracking for every sale. Please stay on the look out.
